Experience

January 2007 – November 2017, Vice President and Chief Development Officer, Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital for the Foundation.


February 2005 – January 2007, Vice President for Retailing Banking, Town Square Bank.


August 1996 – February 2005, Executive Director for the King's Daughters Health Foundation.


1996 - 2012, President of Summer Motion, Inc. festival, which was voted one of the Top 20 Festivals of the southeast. Summer Motion is a festival providing free quality entertainment to the community and alcohol, free and safe environment.

1987 - 1996, National Marketing Director at the Jesse Stuart Foundation, Ashland, Kentucky.


1989 - 1993, coached the Paul Blazer High School Girls and Boys Cross-County teams.


1989 - 1993, taught JTPA in-school program at Paul G. Blazer High School.


1974 - 1985, Supervised and trained five distinct police units of the Alexandria, Virginia Police Department, including the K-9 Unit, Patrol Division, and the Crimes Against Property Section of the Criminal Investigations Division.

Accomplishments

Over the years, Chuck Charles has achieved a number of things for the city of Ashland. His commitment to the growth and stability to our city, along with his passion for the people, demonstrates his leadership.


Below are some of the ways Ashland, KY has benefited from his leadership:


  • Raised funds and built the AK Steel Sports Park
  • Managed, planned and received grants to build the Charles and Betty Russell Hiking Trails
  • Raised funds and started the flood wall murals on riverfront
  • Acquired Train Caboose at Ashland Transportation Center at no cost
  • Raised funds and built the KDMC Hospitality House
  • Summer Motion President 1996 - 2012
